In four movements, an incantation is woven to break a spell.
Static, noise, disrupted information overwhelms the sitter, now captive.
Static, referring to signals lost and transmissions sought after (like SETI listening for alien communications in the chaos of the cosmic background radiation.)
If you are of a certain age in America, it may refer to the movie Poltergeist and ghosts trying to communicate from that which is outside our realm.
In both, there is an attempt to reach what can not be readily grasped.
Here, in this video, the artist is trapped in his studio, while raw untranslatable radioactive microwave radio data washes over the captive mind.
This is followed by a miasmic eddy of information filling the void and silence of isolation.
A dopplganger appears, 'Deep Black,' who struggles with and fights what may be the source.
Evinced by the notion of the corner (to sit in the corner, to be cornered, or caged) an electric pulsation invades the senses.
Is this the source of the transmission?
In the fourth, and final piece, the object of desire (the other, the beloved held afar, the escape, the real physical presence, as opposed to what is mediated) is seen to appear, as if a vision or a 'visitation' of the lover of his dreams, the other, that which can not be reached.
In these four the incantation is spun.
